At DogGone Right! we focus on teaching dog owners how to communicate with their dog, creating an unbreakable bond between them and their 4-legged companions.
Your dog will learn obedience and good manners, through humane training methods and motivational rewards. We find out and use what motivates your dog, from lure (treats) reward, clicker training, praise, play, toys and games.
What makes us different?
- We not only allow, but encourage children over the age of 6 years to attend training classes with their parents and dogs.
- We have two locations to better serve you. Our first training centre is located just minutes away from The Beach, on Danforth Avenue east of Victoria Park.
- Smaller class sizes give us the opportunity to provide you with a more personalized service.
- Classes are offered during the week and weekends.
- Margaret Pender, Head Trainer is a Pet First Aid Certified Instructor through Walks ‘N’ Wags
- Pet First Aid courses are offered every 4-6 weeks.
- Our trainers regularly attend seminars & workshops by some of the best known dog trainers, behaviourists, and nutritionists such as Ian Dunbar, Patricia Miller, Sophia Yin, Patricia McConnell, Pam Reid, Sarah Kalnajs and Jean Dodds.
- We are members in good standing with the Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers (CAPPDT) and the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT)
- All our trainers have respect and a love for animals. They understand there is no ‘cookie cutter’ method for training dogs. What might be successful with one dog could be completely ineffective with another.
- Our trainers are able to provide you with different techniques to help you and your dog learn to communicate with each other using only humane methods.

Our classes take you and your dog from Puppyhood to Advanced Obedience. Our Kinderpuppy class is designed for puppies under 5 months of age and focuses on socialization through game play. Each game we play with you and your puppy has an obedience element to it.
In our Primary (basic) obedience class puppies over the age of 5 months or adult dogs with no previous training or needing a refresher course will learn the basics of Sit, Down, Stand, Coming when Called, Stay and Walking on a Loose Leash.
At the Intermediate and Advanced levels we expand upon those already learned skills mentioned above and continue to work with you and your dog to improve your dog’s responses in a group environment and around distractions and eventually focusing on developing more off leash skills.
If you are looking for something fun for both you and your companion dog to do come join us for our Recreational Agility classes. You will learn how to guide your dog through jumps, tunnels, weave poles, plus climb the A-frame.
Looking to impress your friends with all those Tricks your dog can do. Come to DogGone Right! and teach your dog how to Shake a Paw, Wave, Sit Pretty, Crawl, Rollover, Speak, Crawl, Dance, and Wag Your Tail to mention just a few – all on command.
